Occupying a colonial mansion known as the Casa del Almirante just off Cusco's main square, this university museum holds one of the most comprehensive collections of Inca artifacts in Peru. Galleries display ceramics, textiles, metalwork, mummies and the largest assemblage of carved wooden drinking vessels called queros. The seventeenth-century admiral's house itself is notable for its carved corner balcony and coats of arms. Weavers sometimes demonstrate traditional Andean techniques in the courtyard.
