Miraflores Palace is the official workplace of the President of Venezuela, an ornate late nineteenth-century building in central Caracas. Commissioned during the presidency of Joaquín Crespo, it blends French and Italian influences with grand salons, painted ceilings and formal courtyards. The palace has been the stage for many decisive events in the country's modern political history. While access is restricted, its façade and the surrounding government quarter mark the seat of national power.
