A Florentine-style mansion near the university housing one of the most important collections of Napoleonic memorabilia outside France. Assembled by a wealthy Cuban sugar magnate, it includes furniture, weapons, portraits, a death mask and personal objects associated with the French emperor. The four-storey house itself, with its period rooms, library and tower, is part of the attraction. Displays span the Revolutionary and Imperial eras, an unexpected concentration of European history in the Caribbean capital.
