One of the largest green spaces in central San Salvador, this park offers shaded walkways, sports courts and gardens amid the dense city. It is best known for the Monument to Memory and Truth, a long black granite wall inscribed with the names of tens of thousands of civilians killed or disappeared during the country's long civil war. The wall has become a solemn place of remembrance and reflection. Families, joggers and vendors fill the surrounding park throughout the week.
