This large contemporary-art museum on the national university campus opened in 2008 and quickly became one of the country's leading venues for current art. Designed with a sloping glass facade that draws in daylight, it houses a growing collection of Mexican and international works from the 1950s onward alongside ambitious temporary exhibitions. Its programme spans painting, video, performance and installation, and its terrace overlooks the cultural precinct. The building anchors a cluster of concert halls and theatres on the campus.
