Known locally as the Roundhouse for its circular form, New Mexico's capitol in Santa Fe is the only round state capitol in the country. Completed in 1966, its plan echoes the Zia sun symbol found on the state flag, and the building blends Pueblo Revival and Territorial styles with adobe-toned walls. It doubles as a public art gallery, displaying hundreds of works by New Mexican artists throughout its corridors and legislative chambers. A landscaped garden of native plants and sculpture surrounds the structure, open to visitors year-round.
