This towering Gothic Revival cathedral in Albany, built in 1852, is among the oldest Catholic cathedrals in the country and a landmark near the Empire State Plaza. Designed with twin spires and richly detailed masonry, its interior features ribbed vaulting, imported German stained glass, carved altars, and a fine pipe organ. As the seat of the Catholic diocese of Albany, it has hosted major civic and religious ceremonies for well over a century. Restored in recent decades, it welcomes visitors to admire its craftsmanship and quiet.
