Moored on the Hudson River in downtown Albany, this destroyer escort is the last of its type still afloat in the United States. Built during the Second World War, the warship served on convoy duty in the Atlantic and was later transferred to the Greek navy before being returned and restored as a museum. Guided tours lead visitors through the cramped berthing, engine rooms, gun mounts, and bridge, restored to their 1945 appearance. Volunteers, some of them veterans, bring the daily reality of wartime naval service vividly to life.
