The Wouri Bridge carries road and rail traffic across the broad Wouri estuary at Douala, linking the city to routes toward the interior and the west of Cameroon. A vital piece of infrastructure for the country's largest port, it spans the tidal river that gives the city its maritime character. The crossing offers views over the water, the harbour and the mangrove-fringed shores. As one of the defining engineering landmarks of Douala, the bridge is central to the movement of goods and people through Cameroon's economic capital.
