This basilica in the Mvolyé area of Yaoundé stands on the hill where Catholic missionaries first established themselves, making it a cradle of the faith in central Cameroon. A large modern sanctuary was raised to accommodate pilgrims, its broad interior able to hold sizeable congregations for feasts and diocesan gatherings. The elevated site offers sweeping views across the capital's valleys. As a place of pilgrimage tied to the early evangelisation of the country, it carries deep devotional weight.
