Housed in a restored Ottoman caravanserai below the Ankara citadel, this industrial museum is the capital's branch of the Koç family's collection of technology and transport heritage. The sixteenth-century han, once a trading inn arranged around a courtyard, now displays vintage cars, motorcycles, scientific instruments, model ships and mechanical devices across its galleries. A section commemorates the industrialist Vehbi Koç, born nearby. Pairing a historic commercial building with the machine age gives the museum a distinctive character.
