Stretching along the European Bosphorus shore between Beşiktaş and Ortaköy, this late Ottoman palace was completed in the 1870s for Sultan Abdulaziz in an ornate blend of Ottoman and neo-Moorish styles. Gutted by fire in 1910 and long left as a shell, its marble façade was later restored and incorporated into a luxury hotel. Elaborate stonework, a decorative bridge to Yıldız Park and grand waterside gates recall its imperial origins. As one of the last great sultanic residences built on the strait, it marks the empire's final palatial flourish.
