Liberation Tower

A tall telecommunications tower in Kuwait City, one of the highest structures in the country, named to commemorate the nation's liberation after the Gulf conflict. Its slender concrete shaft rises to a viewing and equipment level, and its tiled and patterned surfaces give it a distinctive appearance. Completed in the years after the conflict, it carries strong symbolic weight as a marker of the country's recovery. A working communications tower, it also stands as one of the recognisable vertical landmarks of the capital's skyline.
