The principal museum of Kuwait, occupying a modernist complex on the capital's seafront and presenting the country's archaeology, heritage and natural history. Its galleries cover ancient finds from Failaka Island, traditional Bedouin and maritime life and the nation's development. The complex, damaged during the Gulf conflict, has been restored over time. Alongside its collections it includes a planetarium, offering a broad introduction to Kuwaiti history within a landmark of mid-century architecture.
