A large landscaped park in the Vake district of Tbilisi, laid out in the mid-20th century on the slopes rising toward Turtle Lake. A grand staircase and fountain lead up from the main avenue past terraced lawns and shaded walks. A tall statue commemorating those who died in the Second World War stands within the grounds. The park is a green refuge in one of the capital's most fashionable neighbourhoods, used for strolling, jogging and family outings, and connects by chairlift to the lake above.
