A small lake on the wooded slopes above Tbilisi, a favourite recreation spot for residents of the capital seeking cooler air in summer. Reached by road or by a chairlift that rises from Vake Park below, its shore is lined with cafes, walking paths and a swimming area. Nearby stands the open-air ethnographic museum with relocated traditional houses from around Georgia. The lake and its surrounding forest offer an easy escape from the city and pleasant views back over Tbilisi from the ridge.
