The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara, known as Museum MACAN, is Indonesia's first institution dedicated to modern and contemporary art with an international scope. Opened in 2017 in a western Jakarta tower, it holds a growing collection spanning Indonesian modernists and global figures, and stages rotating exhibitions that have brought major world artists to the capital. Its immersive installations, including a famous mirrored infinity room, have proved popular with younger audiences.
