The country's principal museum, located in the former capital, presents an extensive survey of national history, art and culture across several floors of galleries. Its centrepiece is the elaborately decorated Lion Throne, a towering gilded royal seat that survived the dispersal of palace treasures, alongside regalia, ancient scripts and prehistoric finds. Costumes, musical instruments and traditional crafts round out the collection, offering background on the dynastic past and the artistry of the royal courts.
