Vietnam Museum of Ethnology

Located in the Cau Giay district, this well-regarded museum documents the material culture of the country's many ethnic groups through costumes, tools, musical instruments and everyday objects. Its most distinctive feature is an outdoor park where full-scale traditional houses from different communities, including a towering communal house and a long house, have been faithfully reconstructed. Thoughtful, clearly explained displays make it a favourite for families and one of the capital's best collections.
