The Bajra Barahi temple stands within a protected grove of old trees south of Patan near the town of Chapagaun, dedicated to a tantric mother goddess. The forest setting, rare in the increasingly built-up valley, makes the shrine a popular retreat where locals picnic among the shade of the woodland. The temple itself is a modest tiered structure enclosed by the sacred grove, home to abundant birds and monkeys.
