Pottery Square is an open plaza in Bhaktapur where families of the traditional potter caste have shaped clay for generations, a living workshop rather than a staged attraction. Rows of freshly thrown pots, oil lamps and figurines dry in the sun across the paved ground, while potters spin heavy wheels in doorways and fire their wares in straw-covered kilns. Small shrines and pagodas frame the space. Visitors watch each stage of the craft, from wedging to firing, and can try the wheel or buy pieces directly from the artisans who made them.
