The Tribhuvan Museum occupies part of the Hanuman Dhoka palace on Kathmandu Durbar Square, dedicated to King Tribhuvan, who reigned during the 1951 revolution that ended Rana rule. Its rooms display royal thrones, coronation objects, personal effects, weapons and reconstructed interiors that trace twentieth-century Nepali history. Neighbouring galleries commemorate later kings within the same complex. The museum sits amid the towers and courtyards of the old royal seat.
