A landmark skyscraper in Central designed by a celebrated architect and completed in 1990, its faceted glass form rising as a series of triangular prisms sheathed in an external steel frame. The tapering, knife-like profile was inspired by growing bamboo shoots, though its sharp angles stirred debate over their feng shui effect on neighbours. For a time the tallest building in Asia, it remains one of the most recognisable towers of the Hong Kong skyline. A public viewing floor near the top offers sweeping views over the harbour and hills.
