The principal museum of the ancient Silla kingdom, located in Gyeongju amid the burial mounds and ruins of the former royal capital. Its galleries hold gold crowns, ornaments, and vessels recovered from the tombs, along with Buddhist sculpture, roof tiles, and the great bronze Divine Bell of King Seongdeok, one of the finest bells in Asia, in an outdoor pavilion. The museum interprets the art and daily life of a kingdom that ruled the peninsula for centuries, complementing the surrounding heritage sites.
