This museum is housed in a former imperial prince's residence, a rare and intact example of Art Deco design completed in 1933 after the family's stay in Paris. The interiors, created with French designers, feature etched glass panels, a perfume fountain, and richly detailed rooms that are themselves the main exhibit, complemented by rotating art shows. A surrounding garden combines a Japanese landscape with a Western lawn and a modern annex. The building stands as one of Tokyo's finest surviving works of interwar decorative architecture.
