The first Disney theme park on the Chinese mainland, opened in 2016 in Pudong on reclaimed farmland. It is anchored by the Enchanted Storybook Castle, the tallest Disney castle built to that point, surrounded by themed lands including Adventure Isle and Tomorrowland. Designers wove Chinese motifs and a large central Gardens of Imagination into the layout to suit local tastes. Visitors ride a pirate-themed boat adventure and enjoy nightly fireworks projected onto the castle.
