A vast new branch of the Shanghai Museum that opened in Pudong in 2024, expanding one of China's premier collections of ancient art into purpose-built galleries near Century Park. Spread over several floors, it displays bronzes, ceramics, jade, calligraphy, painting and coins, with room for large temporary exhibitions the older People's Square building could not hold. The design emphasizes daylight and open circulation. Visitors move through chronological halls tracing thousands of years of Chinese craftsmanship.
