This large Baroque church in the Zamoskvorechye district stands out for its dark red walls, white trim and cluster of five closely grouped domes, an unusually grand design for a mid-eighteenth-century parish church. Its interior retains ornate gilded iconostases and carved altars that survived the Soviet decades, when the building served as a book depository for a state library. Restored to worship, it now houses part of a manuscript collection alongside its congregation.
