This large museum in Minsk is devoted to the Second World War, a conflict that devastated the country and left deep marks on its national memory. Housed since a recent rebuild in a bold modern pavilion beside a victory obelisk and park, its galleries display tanks, aircraft, weapons, documents and immersive dioramas of battles, occupation and resistance. It is one of the oldest institutions of its kind. Visitors follow the war through staged halls to a hall of victory.
