The Primate's Palace is an elegant Neoclassical residence built in the late eighteenth century for the Archbishop of Esztergom in Bratislava. Its pink-and-white facade is crowned by a large iron cardinal's hat, and inside lies the Hall of Mirrors where Napoleon and Emperor Francis signed the Peace of Pressburg in 1805. The palace is renowned for a rare series of English tapestries depicting the legend of Hero and Leander, discovered hidden in its walls. Today it serves as the seat of the city's mayor and a public gallery.
