Piwnica Świdnicka is a historic beer cellar beneath the Old Town Hall of Wrocław, counted among the oldest surviving restaurants in Europe, with origins reaching back to the 13th century. Its vaulted brick chambers once served beer brought from the nearby town of Świdnica, then prized across the region. For centuries the cellar was a centre of civic and social life, frequented by burghers, students and travellers. After a long closure, the atmospheric underground rooms have been revived as a venue.
