The Great Mill is a monumental medieval brick building on the Radunia Canal, once among the largest industrial structures in medieval Europe. Built by the Teutonic Knights in the 14th century, it drove numerous waterwheels to grind grain for the growing port city, its steeply pitched roof a landmark of the old town. Damaged in the war and rebuilt, it has served various commercial uses in recent decades. The canal-side setting recalls the water-powered industry that underpinned Gdańsk's prosperity.
