This Gothic Franciscan church near Wawel is celebrated above all for its interior of Art Nouveau stained glass and murals by the artist Stanisław Wyspiański. His luminous window of God the Father, titled Let It Be, floods the western wall with colour, while floral and geometric paintings cover the vaults. Founded in the 13th century, the church served as a place of royal worship and holds the tombs of dukes and clergy. The blend of medieval structure and turn-of-the-century decoration makes it distinctive.
