The main building of Warsaw University of Technology is a monumental early-20th-century structure blending neo-Renaissance and academic architecture. Its most striking feature is a vast glass-roofed atrium ringed by galleried balconies, where grand balls and ceremonies have long been held. Completed in 1901 for what was then the Tsar Nicholas II Polytechnic, it remains the heart of Poland's oldest technical university. Damaged in wartime and restored, the light-filled hall is often used for public exhibitions.
