The terrace and hillside surrounding the Orthodox cathedral in Helsinki's Katajanokka district offer one of the best elevated views over the harbour and market square. Set on a rocky rise near the waterfront, the red-brick cathedral with its golden onion domes forms a striking landmark against the skyline. From the surrounding steps and lookout points, visitors survey the ferries, the old town and the presidential palace across the water. The vantage combines a religious monument with a panoramic overview of the maritime heart of the capital.
