Standing on the south bank of the Clyde on a former dockland site, this science centre opened in 2001 as part of the city's riverside regeneration. Its titanium-clad crescent building houses three floors of interactive exhibits covering the human body, physics, illusions and the environment, along with a planetarium and an IMAX cinema. Beside it rises the Glasgow Tower, a slender rotating structure and one of the tallest freestanding buildings in Scotland. The complex is a magnet for school groups and families exploring science hands-on.
