Opened in 1837 as the terminus of Russia's first public railway to Tsarskoye Selo, this was the earliest station in the country. The present Art Nouveau building dates from the early 1900s and is celebrated for its ornate iron-and-glass concourse and sweeping ceremonial staircases.
