One of the world's longest floating bridges, this pontoon crossing spans the Demerara River just south of Georgetown, linking the capital to the west bank communities. Opened in 1978, it retracts to let ships pass upriver, and the crossing offers wide views of river traffic, fishing boats, and the low coastal skyline.
