Burundi's largest montane rainforest, capping the Congo-Nile divide and adjoining Rwanda's Nyungwe forest across the border. Chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and hundreds of bird species inhabit its mist-draped ridges once reserved as royal hunting ground. Guided walks from the tea estates at Teza are the usual way in.
