Bolivia's constitutional capital and a UNESCO World Heritage city of whitewashed colonial architecture set in a mild basin at 2,810 meters, often called the 'White City' for the uniformity of its buildings. The Casa de la Libertad — the independence hall — and several religious orders' churches represent centuries of colonial ecclesiastical architecture concentrated within a compact historic center. A dinosaur track site on the outskirts, Cal Orcko, exposes the world's largest and most diverse vertical surface of sauropod and theropod footprints.
