A pueblo mágico in a narrow valley surrounded by volcanic stone cliffs in the state of Morelos, Tepoztlán is home to the Tepozteco pyramid shrine perched on a cliff hundreds of meters above the town. The pre-Columbian temple required a strenuous hour-long hike to reach, rewarding climbers with elevated views across the valley. The town itself is known for its Saturday tianguis market, where crafts, herbs, and regional food fill the streets around the Dominican monastery complex.
