Kualoa Ranch occupies approximately 1,600 hectares of valley and mountain terrain on the windward coast of Oʻahu between Kāneʻohe Bay and the Koʻolau Range, land held sacred in Hawaiian tradition as a chiefdom of the highest rank. The valley's distinctive fluted ridgelines and taro-flat floor have served as the backdrop for numerous film and television productions, making the location familiar to audiences worldwide. Archaeological sites within the valley include heiau platforms, fishponds, and evidence of continuous habitation spanning over a millennium.
