Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville is the capital of Tennessee and the center of the American country music industry, home to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the Grand Ole Opry, and a dense concentration of recording studios along Music Row. The Parthenon in Centennial Park is a full-scale replica of the Athenian original, built for Tennessee's 1897 centennial exposition and later made permanent, housing a 42-foot gilded statue of Athena inside. The city's Germantown neighborhood, with its nineteenth-century brick commercial buildings, has been revitalized as a culinary and cultural district.
