Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

A Bureau of Land Management conservation area 17 miles west of Las Vegas, featuring vivid red and cream Aztec sandstone escarpments rising abruptly above the Mojave Desert floor. The 13-mile one-way Scenic Drive loops past rock art sites, spring-fed watering holes, and major climbing walls including Calico Hills, which hosts thousands of climbing routes. Numerous day hiking trails range from easy canyon walks to technical scrambles. The proximity to Las Vegas makes it one of the most visited climbing destinations in the country.
