At 3,726 meters, Mount Rinjani is Indonesia's second-highest volcano and the centerpiece of Gunung Rinjani National Park in northern Lombok. The multi-day summit trek passes through montane forest, volcanic scree, and the inner crater rim overlooking a vast caldera lake called Segara Anak, fed by hot springs and sheltering a younger subsidiary cone. The summit offers sweeping views across Lombok, Bali, and Sumbawa on clear days.
