Maya Bay is a small enclosed bay on Ko Phi Phi Leh, the uninhabited island south of Ko Phi Phi Don, enclosed on three sides by steep limestone walls rising from the sea. The bay gained international recognition after appearing in a 2000 film and subsequently became subject to significant visitor pressure before periodic closures were implemented to allow reef recovery. The shallow turquoise lagoon and dramatic cliff backdrop remain among the most photographed coastal scenes in Southeast Asia. Access is by longtail boat from Phi Phi Don.
