The highest point on Hong Kong Island at 552 metres, Victoria Peak commands an unobstructed panorama over Victoria Harbour, Kowloon, and the surrounding islands. The Peak Tram, a funicular railway operating since 1888, ascends the steep forested hillside from Central. The best photography conditions are at blue hour, when the harbour lights contrast with residual sky color on the horizon.
