Coorg, officially Kodagu district, is a highland region in the Western Ghats of southwestern Karnataka covered predominantly by coffee and tea estates, cardamom gardens, and montane rainforest. Abbey Falls, Iruppu Falls, and the viewpoint at Tadiyandamol — the district's highest peak at 1,748 metres — are among the primary natural features. The region is also associated with the Kodava indigenous community, whose distinctive martial culture and cuisine differ markedly from surrounding lowland Karnataka.
