Ranthambore Fort is a tenth-century Rajput fortress rising from the floor of the Ranthambore National Park on a steep rocky hill, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan. The fort's jungle-covered ramparts, temples, and reservoirs sit within the tiger reserve, making it the only fort in India where wildlife — including Bengal tigers — commonly moves through the ruins. The ruined Ganesh Temple at the fort's summit is an active pilgrimage site reached through the heart of the tiger territory.
