Khajjiar is a high-altitude meadow at approximately 1,920 metres in Chamba district, characterised by a flat saucer-shaped expanse of grass surrounding a small natural lake ringed by deodar cedar forest. In summer the meadow turns a vivid emerald green, and on clear days the Pir Panjal peaks are visible above the forest line. The twelfth-century Khajji Nag temple at one end of the meadow adds an architectural focal point to the otherwise pastoral landscape.
